LEVEL 3: Mike Physics, Explanations

BACK TO PARALLEL MAIN PAGE

As of April 2015, this page was mostly still a stub but with some links below. I don't foresee putting any original work about physics on this page. Instead, I have questions about physics. The questions are brief. I hope someone will help me find answers. I need to stress that I am not a crank questioning relativity or quantum mechanics, and seeking to put in place my own grand system. I have read enough physics to feel secure in relativity, QM, and other solid theories. I know about long-standing problems such as the "two slit problem" in QM, and I don't expect answers to those issues. Rather, there are still aspects of physics that I do not understand, and some that don't make sense to me. I want help with those.

The answer probably is not to refer me to a popular book on physics, a physics text, or math text. I am fairly math literate. I understand multi-var calculus, topology, group theory, dynamic systems, etc. although now I could do few problems in a text or real-world problems. I have read a lot of pop books on physics. I might put up here a link to a list of good pop books. I have read some not-so-pop books too, that is, near-texts or texts. If you know of a pop book or text that specifically addresses my question, then do point me to the book and the relevant pages. Please do not email me just to say "Bob's book is wonderful and answers all your questions". Thanks.

Please don't send wild speculation. I won't be able to understand it, and I won't read it. Please don't send refutations of relativity, QM, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, etc. Please don't send me any crank systems. Please don't send treatises on the implications of QM for the meaning of the world and of life. Thanks for any real help.
